Our industry-leading multiple hydrographic tank process handles various sized parts and low-, mid-, and high-volume hydrographic orders, always meeting our clients' exacting specifications.
Widely used for all-terrain vehicles, automotive interior applications, and consumer products, decor transfer provides consistent pattern reproduction, high resistance to UV rays and salt water, and excellent adhesion. This is also the best process for complex, three-dimensional parts: the pattern designs are limited only by your imagination.
Datran BSL has manual Class A paint lines that provide consistency and flexibility. Working in an air-controlled environment ensures high quality while allowing us to reduce costs, and our reliable process meets the just-in-time requirements of manufacturers.
Datran also offers turnkey production services that add value to your plastic parts. We provide comprehensive management of surface finishing and in-line pre-assembly. Our secondary processes offer OEMs reduced costs, shorter production times, and lower rejection rates. Just tell us what you need, and we will design a customized solution for you.
Part racking :
Parts are manually placed on racks on a table conveyor belt that transports the racks throughout the process.
Five-step washing :
A 5-step washer carefully washes the parts. This process meets strict auto-industry standards.
Drying :
Once the parts have been washed, they enter an enclosed heated area for drying.
Side downdraft paint booth :
An adhesion promoter is applied inside a side downdraft paint booth.
Side downdraft paint booth :
A base coat is applied inside a side downdraft paint booth.
Curing :
Once the parts have been base coated, they enter a convection curing oven for a controlled period of time.
Dipping the decor transfer :
In this step, the parts receive a hydrographic transfer. Printing film is laid on the surface of the water in a dipping unit. The parts are immersed in the water, and the film adheres to them.
Washing :
Once the parts have been dipped, they go through a washing stage.
Drying :
The parts are then forced-air dried.
Clear coating:
A clear coat is applied to the parts through our paint-line process.
Curing :
Once the parts have been clear coated, they enter a convection curing oven for a controlled period of time.
Assembly / secondary operations :
If required, labels and parts are installed on or adhered to the main parts.
